The Dancers

Serie de pintura y dibujo que explora el movimiento y la forma humana a través del baile.

El proyecto nace de la observación de las danzas folclóricas latinoamericanas: el giro de una falda, el golpe de un zapateo, la energía compartida de los cuerpos que bailan juntos. Más que representar una danza concreta, la serie busca captar el ritmo, el gesto y la fuerza expresiva que las caracterizan, y la forma en que la tradición se transmite y se mantiene viva a través del cuerpo.

Las obras están realizadas sobre azulejos cerámicos, combinando óleo y tinta, y alternando técnicas de pintura y dibujo. Los trazos de tinta y las capas de óleo buscan transmitir la fluidez y la intensidad del movimiento.

A painting and drawing series exploring movement and the human form through dance.

The project grows out of observing Latin American folk dances: the swirl of a skirt, the strike of a footstep, the shared energy of bodies dancing together. Rather than depicting a specific dance, the series seeks to capture the rhythm, gesture and expressive force that define them, and the way tradition is passed on and kept alive through the body.

The works are created on ceramic tiles, combining oil and ink with a blend of painting and drawing techniques. Ink lines and layers of oil paint aim to convey the fluidity and intensity of movement.

This series was selected for the 23rd edition of the Premi Telax at the Galeria Antoni Pinyol in Reus. More information
